NC's #1 CCW Class
Since it's conception, Shooters has consistently had the #1 CCW class in NC. We have graduated more CCW holders than any other. This is simply because we do more classes and offer what you need to obtain your permit, not a lot of extra instructions that you don't want or need. Others may incorporate a shooting class in with there CCW class which costs you both time and money. We don't. What we do is offer separate classes in shooting and other areas if you decide you need it. Below are a few of the more common asked questions. Should you have more, please contact us.
HOW OFTEN ARE CLASSES OFFERED? Shooters offers CCW classes several times each month, normally on weekends. For exact dates and times, please refer to our monthly calendar on this site.
HOW LONG DO CLASSES LAST?
Our CCW classes last an average of 8 hours. The class does involve a limited amount of live fire, however it is concerned primarily with the legalities of carrying concealed. Should you wish a shooting class, we do offer these also.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST ME TO GET MY PERMIT?
The class itself is $100.00 for an individual or $87.50 each if two or more register together. Your local sheriff's department will charge around $90.00 for the background checks which normally takes from 60 to 90 days to complete. The permit itself is valid for 5 years before renewal, so the average yearly cost is only around $38.00.
DO I NEED TO PRE-REGISTER?
Yes. Classes are restricted to around 35 persons and normally fill up fast. All classes are prepay registration only and registering early assures you a spot.
WHAT WILL I NEED FOR THE CLASS?
You will need your class book, which you will receive upon registration, a pen to take notes with, your gun and 35 rounds of ammo to qualify with. Although it is better if you have your own gun, should you not, you may rent one of ours at an extra charge.
HOW LONG IS MY PERMIT VALID FOR AND CAN I CARRY ONLY THE GUN I QUALIFY WITH?
Your permit is valid for a period of 5 years and no, you are not restricted to only the gun you use to qualify with.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW?
WORD TO THE WISE: CCW Classes are valid ANYWHERE in NC. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE THE CLASS IN THE COUNTY YOU LIVE. Don't Let anyone tell you otherwise.
Yes, Shooters has consistently had the highest number of CCW grads in North Carolina since the CCW laws were enacted.
Also, now that over 30 other states are honoring NC's CCW permit, and since 08/11/04 any person having a valid CCW permit no longer need obtain a pistol purchase permit from the local sheriff to purchase handguns, there is no better time to get yours. In addition, we also have the facilities to hone your skills as well as obtain any other help or instruction that you may need or want.
