INTRODUCTION
Introduction of the instructor, what to expect from the course, course outline

WEAPONS CHARACTERISTICS
This portion of the course covers all the characteristics of the AR-15 family of rifles, starting with the styles of rifles to choose from, the capabilities of the AR-15, to familiarization with nomenclature of the parts of the rifle and the cycle of operations.

DISSASYMBLY/ASSEMBLY
This is a more in-depth familiarization with how to properly clear, field strip, reassemble, and functions check your rifle.

WEAPONS HANDLING
Weapons handling is always important with any firearm in any situation.  In this part of the class you will learn how to safely handle the AR-15 in a variety of situations.

PREPARATORY MARKSMANSHIP TRAINING
This is not only one of the most important sections of the course, but it will be the most time consuming.   You will learn all the key fundamentals of Marine Corps marksmanship starting with sighting and aiming, positions, trigger control, rapid fire, sight adjustments, and effects of weather.  You will learn all the key techniques to not only shoot your weapon accurately, but to use it to its full potential.

IMIDIATE/REMEDIAL ACTION
Bang, Bang, Click.  This situation happens all too often and normally when you least expect it.  After this period of instruction is over you will know how to properly clear stoppages and what to do when the weapon fails to fire or feed.

B.Z.O.
Now that you know all the fundamentals, it’s time to put them to the test.  With the aid of the instructor, you will sight in or “B.Z.O.” your rifle.  Once this is done, you and your rifle will be ready to fire whenever, wherever.

RIFLE MAINTAINANCE
This is also an important section of the class.  The instructor will go over how to properly clean your rifle after firing and how to maintain it in between shootings.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
       Dan Griffin, former USMC.  3rd award high expert on rifle range (out to 500 yrds unsupported with iron sights).  17 times qualified on EMP ranges ( enhanced marksmanship program), box drills, shooting on the move, turn drills, close quarter urban drills.
Dan has had 2 tours of duty in Iraq, one of which was inside Fallujah.  3-4 months training time in MOUNT (Military Operations in Urban Terrain) shooting from cover, moving, bonding, dynamic, entry, room/building clearing.   Dan has taught plattons 2 week courses on MOUNT and EMP.  Dan now is employed at Shooters Express in the Pro Shop and conducts the Basic Assault Rifle Course as well as private instruction.
